I've heard they do it to ride lower air pressure and also it's got a spongier feel that seems to have more grip and control. I couldn't tell you as I am tubed still. My friend told me I could go Ghetto tubeless pretty cheap. He runs tubeless and loves it. I think some do it just to say they do it as well though.

If you get those Aspen's let me know how you like them.

I've run the Aspens, pretty good. Nevagals are pretty good as are the Maxxis ADvantage Exceptions. I ran those in hard pack with loose sandy spots and had great hook up.

^^ Those look like road bike tires only. He's looking more for MTB tires. Since he's posting in the Mountain Biking section I would assume.

I am partial to Kenda Nevegals.
For this area in NC, we have lots of roots, rocks and sand, the Nevegals are amazing for it.
I had the Bontrager experts stock on my bike, they were ok, but didn't like the sand much, and had very little traction on the side, so during fast wide turns, I often laid the bike down.
But, with the Nevegals, its like they have hundreds of little hands that reach out and grab the trail for me. they are great.

Rola, I've talked myself into trying tubeless. The wheels on the Superlight 29er are UST rims so why not. Not a big fan of the Crossmarks that are coming on the bike so have a set of Ignitors on the way along with a container of Stans. Will letcha know how it works.

Just got off the phone with someone who is willing to wheel and deal for getting me setup at cost on going tubeless. Gonna trade him my SRAM shifters for him to order me the tires and stuff to get setup at cost
