I am not what would probably be considered "old" (24), but I have had the distinct privilege of know some very elderly people. I met a couple on a live-aboard dive trip in the Gulf of Mexico a few years back that were in their 70s and still jumping off the side of the ship! Yes, they needed a hand getting back onboard after the dive but they were an inspiring pair. I used to work at Hometown Buffet in Casper, Wy. I knew a regular customer there that was in her 80s and still liked climbing into the basket of shopping carts and going for wild rides while someone else pushed. My own grandfather is in his mid 70s and still works out on prospecting rigs everyday! From these examples I have learned that getting "old" is about 90% attitude! I think that it is very possible to skip the "easy chair" age and go straight from skydiving to dead without slowing down (no, this doesn't involve a skydiving accident that would handily combine death and burial in one stroke

). Applying this lesson has me feeling like I am still 16 and picking up new wild hobbies almost weekly (most recent was parkour) and doing things that probably would shorten my lifespan if I stopped to think about them. Life is all about the experience so I am out to get as much as possible.
