FYI, If I had pics to post here, I'd love it. Unfortunately, I took great care as a kid to keep my parents from knowing about my jumps, much less ever seeing one. I got enough safety-crap as it was. Happens when parents find you unconscious on the ground after a jumping fail.

I might be able to lay my hands on a couple of pics from my MTB days, but they wouldn't be near as cool, since by then I'd lost my sense of youthful immortality. I'd also have to open boxes and go through FILM pics :eek

Oh haha that sucks my dad doesnt care what I jump it's just my mom, I showed her the jumps I just havent showed her me jumping because she will get scared haha. When you say "mtb days" do u mean just mountain biking or downhill mountain biking?

Wow...revealed my age a bit, there For the vast majority of my MTB days, there was no such thing as DH MTB sports. Ski lifts actually shut down and were idle in the summer . Suspension for bicycles didn't exist, so I started on a hard-nose/tail MTB that I thought to be the best thing since sliced bread. I did some really crazy things on that bike, but I mostly rode alone, and cameras in the film era just weren't available as they are now. I was out in the boonies, too - would have needed parental assistance to get the film in to be developed.

I eventually graduated to a FS model MTB as a young adult, but could never get the hang of launching it: the rear suspension compressed and rebounded on launch, slinging the front tire down into the ground with unhappy results. These days, I ride a touring/expedition bike, which wasn't ever designed for such abuse. Says so right in the manual...yea, I read it

So that mountain bike had only rear suspension and no front suspension?

First one had no suspension at all. Later FS bike was fully suspended, though with very little travel by today's standards.

If I remember, I have to a of pics from when I was a kid of my brother and I on the jumps and streets in SoCal. We just looked at them over thanksgiving so next time I am up there I will try and remember to snap some pics of them for the thread. They are film pics so I will use the iPod to snap them and post them.

Some look just like the first pic, ha ha ha
