Story floating around Oburg years ago - cop told it to me but I don't know if its an urban or not - about two gentlemen of chance driving downtown. They see a cyclist in the right lane and decide to have some fun. In that, they swung in close and shouted, "Get on the sidewalk where you belong!" And only then, they realized they'd done it to a bike cop.
They took off, off course, but radio is faster and there was a squad car two blocks down which pulled the twin toodles over. Of course, the police gave the two the full inspection, which quickly turned up the fact that they were doing no-nos (it was something like driving with a suspended licence, or a number of unresolved prior traffic convictions, or something). In that, the police got to tow their car off. So these two tirebiters are standing there in the street, watching their ride swinging off behind a wrecker, and the bike cop gives them a little shoo: "Get on the sidewalk where you belong."
