I have come to realize the usually when you buy something (gloves) at a premium price you will lose one of them within a week to ten-days.

Same thing applies to expensive sun glasses.

I found the opposite to be true. I take much better care of my expensive sunglasses compared to cheap Target sunglasses. I would lose or break those glasses but have kept nice pairs for years.

Not me. I find it best not to spend real money on things that are small. Pens, Glasses, children.

I wear el-cheapos from Wal-Mart on my day to day riding, and when I'm going to be pushing the pace, I wear my Fox Bombers. Again, they are pricey, but work very well!! The carbon fiber on the knuckles offer a lot of protection from passing branches, and what not.

I have very large hands as well, and these fit great. I have owned three pairs of them, and use them riding my MTB and my dirt bike, an XR650R. They hold up for several seasons, and have really been about the best gloves I have found. As a matter of fact, I still keep my first pair in my MX gear bag for back ups...

I'm glad I'm not the only huge handed person out there.
