Road: helmet and often glasses. I wear gloves mainly for comfort, but I know they offer some protection if I fall.

Other riding: usually just a helmet, and sometimes a quick (wonderful) ride without one.

Pujafdaf, if you are happy riding that way, more power to you, happy riding. To me, that is a bit much to wear, unless you are still learning to ride a bike and falling a lot. For parks and bike paths, I'd personally be inclined to not even wear a helmet if my kids weren't with me.
