Leg Exercises

I have been riding bikes for years but my girlfriend is just starting. She feels like she needs to do some beginner workouts for her legs to get them in great cycling form. However, I don't remember how I started off.

Can anyone send us some tips or advice on certain exercises for your legs?
Thanks very much!

Squats Do low weight, high reps. If you aren't comfortable with doing squats, you can do leg presses. For biking, you probably want to do 25-30 reps per set.

join a co-ed soccer team or find a local group of people who play for fun.i played competativly for years in some open leagues and when i got to old for that,i stated in the co-ed thing.it's great!! keeps you in shape and it's a lot of fun too! take all the boredome out of the weight lifting thing, and it keeps the legs in good shape to! i'm 52 years old and i still call my legs the "human pistons"!! ...lol..

Weights can't hurt, but the best thing to do is just get her out riding... The muscles will develop in time. Start with short distances and work up.
