ezip changed freewheel to 11-34, no speed increase

On an 08 Ezip Trailz I changed the 7 speed freewheel from 14-34 to 11-34. On electric power alone I don't see a speed increase. I should see something, right?

Actually a shop changed the freewheel. Is it possible they went for a joy ride, ran down the battery and left it discharged for a couple days. Could that have damaged my battery? It barely went about 5 miles on my first ride. how can I check to see if my battery is defective? (It has less than 100 mile from new).

How could you expect upgrading the 7 spd to increase "electric power alone" speed?
7 speed freewheel is not connected to motor! ...
Allows you to pedal faster ...

The 16T upgrade is connected to motor and should give you ~25% higher, motor only speed
