The more ive been commuting via cycling the more ive come across things i need to transport that wont fit in my backpack... So ive been thinking about purchasing a rack that clamps to the seatpost so it can be easily removed.. Any suggestions on a certain one/brand or are they all fairly similar due to the design being so simple

Bones, keep in mind the 13 lb load "limit" is just as a precaution if you are mounting to carbon. The rack is plenty strong for more weight if you're putting it on a steel or aluminum post. Let me know if you have any specific questions about the Arkel.
That should work well.. Both my bikes have aluminum seat post.. And i really like the fact its easy on easy off for the days i decide to commute with my roadbike

I tried a rear rack that clamps on my seat post and it never tightened enough. So after many attempts I had it welded. Problem solved. I don't know why it took me so long to think of this.

Here's the link for Topeak as long as your post is aluminum, there are 3 different ones depending on your bike size. Had one for years, works great and also has a quick release clamp for removal. http://www.topeak.com/products/Racks/MTXBeamRackE-Type
