That's BS!!! The guy that hired you and then fired you has the reason for firing you in your personal file. Personally I don't think this happened at all and you made it all up. I think either the whole thing did not occur, or you glorified the reason for the firing, perhaps leaving out an important fact like you arrived 30 minutes late due to a flat, or was trying to bring the bike inside and you were told not to and raised a fit. Something is amiss in your little story.

I assure you that it happened exactly the way I said to begin with. I was not late, did not bring my bike in. (Hence, the title of my post "The Outrage")...
It will also not keep me up at night that you don't believe me.

Then you can get a copy of your employment record from them and they will state why you were fired, at that time you could have a case against them. If say you don't care or they won't release it or some other such nonsensical excuse then none of us here are going to believe you. What they did to you was inexcusable and did not justify firing you for; the very most they should have done to you is to tell you that from now on you cannot ride a bike to work, you must take your car, then that's OK, but to fire you without giving you that mandatory option is not right. And I'm not really sure, though I'm not a lawyer, that they can make it mandatory that all employees must use a car to get to work, how is it their business or concern what mode of transportation they use to get there as long as you get there and get there on time? It isn't!

First off Frooze, why are you being so hostile? Second, you say " none of us are going to believe you ". Please don't tell anyone else what the rest of us think, I have no reason not to believe her. I am sure most people have worked for bad managers who do all kinds of inexcusable things. Thirdly it is just unfair to accuse Maggie of lying. What would be the point of seeking out a forum such as this just to tell lies.

It was a civilized discourse, I could have rephrased the BS as: "perhaps you may be telling us a white lie?" Would that coloring of the letters BS be more suitable to you? I don't mix words. I don't know Maggie, I don't live with her nor am I a friend of her's so how do I know if she a liar or not? You must know her real well, like hang out together type of knowing to make that statement. This is the internet, very few people are as they appear to be, and/or never told a lie, or lets say over glorified (since you don't like the word lie) a story on the forums such as these.
So then you go off calling my words acrimonious? The only two words that are closely related to that were the words BS and LIE, and those two words are not strongly rancorous in any way.
Sorry Maggie if I'm coming across hostile and don't believe you, but there are elements in your story that do not add up. But I also have the right not to believe you. You may be right, but let me tell you, if I were you that company would very quickly learn my name and wished they didn't know it.
I won't say anything more about this particular subject, it wrinkled some feathers here so it's not benefiting anyone to continue by hashing it out with the next posters remarks.

So true. If Frooze had read my previous posts, he would have seen that I had no actual proof that I worked for the guy. It was my FIRST day! We were supposed to iron all that out when I got there. I never got the chance, so therefore no actual proof that he hired or fired me. All I have is cell phone calls from him, when we agreed that would be my start date. Plus, he was 1099'ing me too.
