My trip to school is 2 miles also, very easy. I haven't tried the commute to work yet, as I usually get off work pretty late, and don't feel comfortable riding through the neighborhoods I drive through at night. I think it would be about 3 miles, though.

my school is only 3/4 of a mile down the highway. usually takes me 2 mins, but i've done it in 40 seconds. in the winter if i take the bus, its only like a 10 second bus ride! lol.

I've got a 2 mile commute to work. I mostly stay in the parking lots and a couple sections of road that are nearly unused. The terrain is fairly flat except for one decent hill right off the bat from the house. The worst problem is the number of cars in the parking lots and having to ride my brakes the whole time to keep from rear-ending the cars. lol

My Commute
My commute is an 8-9 mile (depending on the route I take) ride over some rolling terrain. There are a couple of big hills along the way. Not too bad in the morning when I am fresh, but in the heat of the afternoon, they can kind of suck.
Fortunately, there is a shower and locker room in the basement of the building where I work. |

Unfortunately, I work in the next town over, about a good 45 minute drive to and from work each day so commuting on my bicycle is not quite possible.
thoffman, it's probably nice to have a different route that you could take once in a while to break the usual cycle. Wish I had that opportunity. |

I can't commute to work on my bike as it is too far away but the kids, wife, and I ride a 3 mile trail to my in-laws house. The kids love taking their trip over to the their grandparents house. Grandpa has a good time with them and their bicycles.
