Greetings,
I ride an Sun EZ3 trike. Not too low to the ground and rather heavy (many recumbent trikes are!), but due to a chronic back problem, it keeps me riding. My only wish is that I would have waited and purchased the '09 Aluminum frame set. Other than that I really enjoy it.

Yep, I'm bent

Yes, I have an ICE Tandem Trike (which is for sale BTW), and a Bacchetta Aero 24.

I would die to be able to try a Fujin out, the ride, and that apple green look killer!

Get to a shop!

For those of you that have not tried a recumbent bike, my suggestion is to get to the closest shop that carries a lot of variety. High racers, low racers, trikes, LWB, SWB. I think there are more recumbent designs than anything I have ever seen.

It's an absolute blast, and despite back surgery, I'm riding like crazy!

tricke-out recumbent trike

TrekTrey - take a look at this site for about the most tricked-out recumbent trike I've ever seen, goes by the name of "Silk";his host is amazing:
Catrike 700 [Silk] « Cycling Experiences…
My son and I just bought matching Catrike "Pocket" models a couple of weeks abot after probably 40 hours of research between us. Take a look at their web site here:
Catrike Performance Trikes
They are a mid-price range manufacturer, made in Florida. We've been extremely pleased with our purchases thus far. If you want more info directly, contact me at my email address: gryjacobson@yahoo.com

What is a recumbent? I'm having a hell of a time with all the terminology.

Thanks, I see those all over Austin. I just call them " those crazy bikes with the pedals upfront". I wish some one had corrected me earlier. I see a lot of older people on them. Easier on the knees? More fun? Seems like there always relaxing, well as relaxed as you can be dodging Austin traffic!

Other than an alternative mode of cycling, they are great for those who have trouble sitting a regular saddle and/or just want to ride in a more relaxed manner. That said, depending on how you ride and where you ride, they are not necessarily easier to ride. They're a good workout if done right and some can be reallty fast. It's a different style with a different mind set.

Try it, I bet you'll like it!

How about NO saddle sore, NO sore neck or back! That's the huge benefit of recumbent. The long wheeled base (LWB) recumbents have a much easier learning curve than the short wheeled based (SWB) recumbents.

Re: Anyone ride a Recumbent?

The best thing about recumbent cycles is the variety...so many ways to lay back and relax
