I would be interested to try one, at some point, but there aren't any dealers remotely near my location.
I think they are an interesting concept.

REg Rodero at Niagara On the Lake works with trikes and velomobiles, and Carey Chen at ucycle.com in downtown Toronto sells them too, along with lots of other bent styles.

I've got another tilter and possibly a dual 700/triple 700 titler conversion in the works and I hope I have time to finish them before the season starts in Sebring in Feb. If you have a FWD lowracer of any kind in your bent herd, you could just make a simple tilting rear end that slides into the drop-outs where the rear wheel used to be. I made one like that for my python, and Dennis Grelk made similar ones for his lowracer. The tilting delta trikes are pretty fast. Almost as fast as a 2 wheel lowracer and you'd have no problem hanging with your DF crowd on a tilter. As for the weight, the scales are a little iffy, and I wouldn't doubt that the trike is actually closer to 45 rather than 42 lbs. It was a little over 60 when I had it loaded down for Calvins (took WAY more gear with me than I needed). I'll be using a lighter version this year, to be sure

I haven't convinced the wife yet that I need it. She shakes her head and says something foolish about already having 4 recumbents. Rick Wyanecki lives just a few miles away. I haven't talked to him lately, but I'd be surprised if he wasn't already working on a leaning delta rear end to go on his breakable FWD lowracer. I just need to give him time to perfect his design...

Recumbent trikes are the rage right now. The two shops in AZ can't keep them on the floor. Ajo Bikes in Tucson said he isn't hardly selling the bent two wheelers, just a ton of trikes.
No balance problems, they are are making them lighter and faster. Catrike in Florida, USA made trikes, is really leading the pack with the Catrike 700. ICE makes a gorgeous trike, more money but a piece of art.
If you haven't ridden one, do so, you will be hooked!

I've noticed a large increase of just recumbent in general lately around Austin. I never used to see any and now poof large explosion. I wonder if more manufactures are entering the market.

I think what is amazing about the bent market is the pure number of different designs coming out, despite a very depressed economy. Terratrike just came out with a new offering, and foldable trikes are very popular as they are easy to transport.
They are addictive...

When I'm meeting friends in Central and south they are all over the place, North and west not and all, and if I saw one on the east side I would think it was stolen no matter who was on it.

I think the market buying them was hit the least by the economic down turn.
