Any recs?

Good morning,

I've been commuting in LA on my single speed for about 2.5 months now. What a great experience it has been. I look forward to riding everyday, both ways!!!!

I was curious if anyone could recommend a good bicycle maintenance book?

One other thing, why do they call it a single speed? The name seems like a misnomer. My bike goes different speeds, it just has one gear....

Park tools has a repair manual that is very good. I have a preference for all things Park so I am a little biased.

I have the "Zinn & The Art of Road Bike Repair" It's pretty good and has a dash of humor, but I'm kinda inexperienced so take it with a grain of salt.

Mine have no gears--Only a chainring and a cog.

Park also has a good, basic repair how-to section on their website.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will check them out...

Hophead, great perspective: "Mine have no gears--Only a chainring and a cog."

Anyone from LA ride with critical mass? Good time?
