Well while I am waiting fo my Absolute 1.0 to come in I have bin thinking I would like a single speed. this is not a bike I think I would use a lot. So I looked on bikes direct thay have an SST1 speed that has what I want and it is only $299 shiped it has brakes F&R, crommoly frame & fork, a flipflop hub, and a set of gears that might be a little much fo me 46-16. So is it a good buy or just Junk, I would like your .02

Just wait till you get going on it. Fixed gear riding is more addictive than cigarettes.

I've got the "Motobecane Messenger" and I've been nothing but happy with it. If I ever get re-employed I'm considering picking up another FG or SS either one of the road bikes that fits fat tires or possibly one of the 29er SS's.
