The last bike I built from scratch had 203mm titanium disc brakes, and 26" wheels. It stopped on a dime, and that same dime could buy a dozen tires, figuratively speaking. I like good brakes, and lots of options for inexpensive tires. I haven't found that to be so easy with 27" wheels. That may be why my Univega is in pieces in the corner of my office.

This is actually a nicely built bike for $100 it comes with 700c wheels and a flip flop hub. I recently bought one and did a little work on it to make it my own. Here's a pic of how it looks today

Send me some tires. I really need to decide if it's going to be a single speed or not, then I can continue the restoration.

Are crankset freewheels useful on single-speeds?

Oh, I just realized my comment made me look like a jerk, but I see that Thruster pop up online used, usually ridden twice, and at about half price. Not sure if it's the bike itself, or people just don't like them that much, but I'm still wary of a complete bike for $99. Gotta cut a lot of corners to get there.
