Disk brake not always an advantage

You have to spend a lot of money to get a set of disks that work as well as a good V brake. I think you made the right decision to go with a top of the line v brake instead of a less expensive disk.

I don't know if you are using wheels set up of disks or not but they are a tidy bit also.

My old "cross" bike was set up with Sturmey Archer hub brakes and they worked grate. It had Scott At4 handle bars and 700 by 28 tri cross tires. wether it would be considered a highbred I don't know.
