I was interested in checking out the shaft drive discussion. There are certainly a lot of pro's but I was a bit put off when they stated that the life span of the gears and bearings could be significantly shortened by "heavy riders" or riding in tough terrain. I live in steep hills and though I am not crazy overweight, I am not a lightweight either.

I'm guessing that Pompano Beach has a lot fewer terrain challenges than we do here, and I'm all interested see how this works out, or if anyone else has had experience with shaft drive bikes.
