I do a few rides a week as time permits between 35-50 miles usually. I avg between 17-18mph... Today's ride 46.35 miles avg 18.10 mph 2hrs 33min. I am riding a fsr stumpy with 26x2.0 road tires. Its not fast like a road bike but I have loss baggage that needed to go.

It might just be that I have the "Irish Curse" but on the hybrid with the stock sprung saddle and suspension seat post, a pair of boxer briefs and lacrosse shorts and I'm good to go.

Then again, maybe I'm just a hardman and have a scranus made of naugahyde.

Usually at least 10 miles, the longest this season was 15. Time is such a problem, my favorite rail trail is an hour away two hours counting the return so we usually ride 30-40 minutes in one direction and then return. Another problem is that my wife is working full time and going to school so that limits the time we can ride. Back in March I was lucky to do 7 laps around a football fields running track so I am fairly happy with my progress.

Time is an issue for me as well. In a real good week I may be able to get on the bike three or four days for a max. of 20 mi. If I'm riding around the track at my local park I can do more flat miles, but that gets pretty boring after awhile. As hilly as it is here in PA, I cannot get a good base of speed built up either, so I may not average more than 10-12 mph. during my rides.

I have a 90$ single speed. My first time riding was yesterday. I did 6 miles. Today I did 15 miles. Lol I over did it for sure. Gonna be feeling this in the morning. New to biking so I just went for it.

15 mile average at 14 mph on flat paved bike path. As said by others, lack of time to really do more

I don't understand how the cost of the bike has any relevance for this topic/response.

my guess is your probably proud of the amount of money you spent on the bike, I get it... and will allow it, this time, once (although I know it's been mentioned in other threads)
