I have been looking at cyclecross levers in addition to drop levers but I was having to research how to make them hook together

Interrupter cyclocross levers actually go in-line on your brake cable and function by effectively lengthening the cable housing as you apply the brake. You use a standard brake cable. There will be a short section of housing from the drop lever to the interrupter, the cable then threads through the interrupter brake and into another cable housing and from there on it is business as usual.

Ryno - you live in Ks -- get used to it I suppose - or pick a trail like the Shunga that weaves back & forth - we had wind in front & back alternating somewhat evenly throughout the ride - it was awesome !

dude, this bike kicked butt in the skate park. all the skaters were watching me drop in on the pool and ride the walls. if it wasn;t so back heavy, i would hit the ramps too.

i am going to have to google interrupter levers.

See, you were discouraged and now you're having fun.

The more you know and all that happy horseshit.

You need to get rid of that stem ASAP if you want to play in the skate park. That's going to fail and they say a nursing home is no place for a young man.

Try these guys:

Interrupters are what I posted for you, you need to make sure they work with V brakes. I know the Pauls are expensive but I'm sure you can find find something else, it just needs to have two pivots.

Tape the bars up and you'll be styling, kid.

I know I need to change the stem out. I was thinking of one of those adapters that let's you swap to a new style set up. I have been holding off on buying tape because my wife bought me some (but she thinks I don't know)

Have your kid video you once or twice at the skate park! I wanna see this! I've been too scared to drop in on the pool part as you say. I've went down a few ramps and up and over nothing too skilled. NO jumps for me yet.

Hmm, never thought of having him video it. He is scared to ride it so he just watches.

I don't do anything crazy either, ha ha ha. I want to because I know what to do but I am scared if I wreck that my family will suffer. When I was a kid, we loved big concrete sewer pipes and drained pools but lived on the dirt ramps and asphalt launches in Los Angeles back in the 80s and 90s
