my newest modification!! yah baby

i hate riding and hitting little puddles that throw mud or water on you so i fixed that issue and ordered some cool guy fenders from planet bikes. i actually wanted the sks ones but since i wasn't really sure how plastic fenders looked or lasted, i opted for some cheaper ones as experimentals. these are actually pretty decent looking and other then having to trim around my brakes, they plugged right in.

they are hybrid/commuter model fenders and fit from 1.5-2.2 (something like that)

now for the coolness

pre fender

They are great. I went up and down the street with no little splats on my back face

I havent had fenders on a bike since 1968. If I commuted or had a destination that I was riding too I would consider them for keeping my clothing clean. Seeing as all my riding is recreational and fitness related they would only add a problem cleaning them.

With that said I do like your enginuity of using the plastic fenders and trimming them to fit. If I ever break down and mount some that will be the method required seeing as none of my road bikes have clearance for fenders.

Good Tip

Mine is mostly recreational/fitness but I still hate mud splattering on my wind jacket or my compression shirt. We only really get rain for a few weeks a year so I will probably only use these for maybe four or five weeks a year and then store them for later

I really like the look of your fenders. Good job. It has been raining a lot here lately and the other day I wanted to put in some miles so I asked my son if I could borrow the fenders off of his S/S. He reminded me what a pain they were to put on but went into his toolbox and offered me one of these instead. emergency fender. catchy name ain't it.

Some Fenders are better than others. I would love a pair like this.
