Seriously though, I hear ya. I'm going to be training pretty hard for the next 2 months. Fortunately, there are plenty of hills to train on.

I do need to buy one of those wedge bags for under the seat for the bike tools, extra tube, etc. They do have SAGs but they recommend being able to fix yourself since theres no way to tell how long it would take for them to get to you. They suggest having 2 bottles so Im thinking of getting another cage. Only problem with that is im wondering where I could place a punp. Maybe under the top bar?

Again, thanks for all the info!!! Very much appreciated!
I have two cages on mine (a must for Florida riding in summer) and a frame pump that I have mounted to the side of the bottom bar. The pump is just short enough where it doesn't rub against the top of my chain.

I wouldn't worry about clipless peddles until you get more comfortable riding cause they can cause you to wreck(forgetting to unclip when you stop). I have been riding for about eight months now without out them and don't really feel like I need them.
I've been riding regularly for the last three years and I still don't have clipless pedals. I'm not racing, so what's the use? Plus I've been known to ride in areas where sugar sand can be a problem and you have to be able to put your feet down in a split second.

Sorry to be so late for the party.

The most I've ridden is 35 miles, and I do a 30-miler twice a month or so. My equipment contains:

A frame pump
Patch kit (Slime Skabs work best for me, they bond very well in just seconds)
Spare tube
Multi-tool
Ratchet with a socket for wheel removal
Several sandwich-sized ziploc bags (for wallet, cell phone, etc. in case of rain)
A ziploc bag of cotton balls (for detecting road hazard inside of my tire in the event of a flat)
Zip-ties
Bicycle Law Enforcement Guide for local jurisdiction
Two bottles of water
Swiss army knife w/ phillips head screwdriver
Spoke wrench
Flathead screwdriver
Granola bars or peanuts (in case I need an energy boost)
