There's a Bicycle Blowout happening in Toronto on Oct 17. From what I read that a 30% saving is possible on bicycles and accessories. Seeing I'm looking at getting into cycling again, what are the does and don'ts for shows like this. I'm looking for everything (bicycle clothing etc).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For example:

If I can get a couple of hundred dollars off a bike that a LBS has, is it not proper to go ahead and make the purchase? Or should a support the local shop at my expense. Would it make a difference to LBS support when servicing is needed?

Check your LBS first, and see what they can do for you. There comes a point where even they have to concede that you're getting a better deal elsewhere. But give them your maintenance and upgrade business, as well as accessories down the road. That's where they make their money.
