And i wanted to go clipless pedals,but just cant afford them right now,going to ask the wife for them at christmas!!Well i thought maybe the toe clip pedals would be better than just plain ones so thats what i got put on.Did i make a mistake in doing this?Input please thanks

I don't think you made a bad choice. I'm a big fan of clipless pedals so I still recommend upgrading when funds allow but for the time being toe clips will improve your ride.

What style of clipless pedals are you looking at? I'm a huge fan of SPD myself.

I've purchased a couple sets of SPD pedals on craigslist for well under their retail value. (You'd still need shoes though).
