Help with tires

My bike has 700 X 23C tires / wheels. I currently have Continental Ultra 3000 tires. I plan to do lots of road biking and would like to know:

if these are good tires,
what is a replacement,
what does 'mount only on hooked type rims' mean,
are these tubed or tubless tires?

Thanks,
greg

Here is a place to start :

I am currently using Michelin® Krylion® and have been pleased so far
Michelin Bicycle USA - A better way forward

I don't think you would want to mess around with tubeless tires.
