OP, look into a Selle An-atomica saddle or if you want something more sportier how about something from CobbCycling.

firm saddle and bike shorts help the most. however, i ride so often that unless it is a fifty plus mile ride my butt does not care if i wear bike shorts or not. my body has adapted and built muscles for the bike saddle. i honestly can never remember getting sore but i have ridden a lot since i was tiny. i am also pretty light and think that has a little to do with it. saddles do make a huge difference in comfort but time in the saddle is the best fix i know.
i would recommend a narrow saddle with little padding. and a good pair of bike shorts until you get used to being on the bike a lot.
yo do not have to spend $130 but probably over $50....

I am sure a hybrid bike where you sit more upright would be differnt than a road bike saddle where you are bent over more. I will keep looking, rideing , I know that the right one is out there .

Well I have switched bikes and tryed a cupple of bike seats since I rode the Absolute. I got a Selle An-Atomica saddle and have about 1000 miles on it and I can say for me it is . I would buy this saddle again, by the way I got the clydesdale model I am 235 #.

I will say that this saddle was not a bolt on and good for me. For me I had to change the angle and tension a fue times to get it the best fo me. I think you nead to read and understand the instructions to get the most out of the saddle.

+1
I use a fairly narrow, low padding saddle. But use padded shorts. I use one of those man saddles that has no center to it, to help with numbness.

A secret... BODY GLIDE. The slickest stuff on earth. Made for the dairy industry to aid with sore cow udders.
Rub it on your "hot spots" before the ride... amazing.
Sold at sporting goods stores.

Ya I totally agree with Sprocketgirl. I have a narrow saddle, slightly firm but the biggest help/difference is the specialized bibs and the padding to go along with time on top.

I've found that firm saddle and good biking shorts are the answer for me. The sit bones just have to get in shape like my leg muscles.
