I've seen a friend tape them into the tire before installing it onto the rim.

What I do is put 1/2 of the tire on, and inflate the tube a little. It needs to be inflated just enough to hold the liner in place, while you tuck in between the tube and tire, through the open side. You can adjust it to you satisfaction from there, then pop the other half/side of the tire on, inflate, and ride the wee out of it!! I use liners in my MTB tires, and have taken them off several times, and once I figured out this technique, it has bee very easy!! HTH!!

I had some kevlar liners in my old road bike 10-15 years ago, and they worked very well at preventing flats, even here in goat-headville. The advent of kevlar belted tires has pretty much obviated the need for them.

They work ok, but I think that if I hit a gnarly enough sticker or something, I'll have a flat anyway. After I bought the liners, I found that my flats were coming from the rim. They were not deburred enough where they drilled through the inner wall of the wheel!! DOH!! Once I deburred all of the holes, my flat tire problem was fixed!!

Shouldn't rim tape prevent this?!
