There's always that risk, but if you use cheap locks and park in an area that has high foot traffic, the odds are no one will do anything to the cooler. If the lock is system is real cheap the would be thief would know it can be easily defeated, so why would anyone lock valuables such a way? They wouldn't, the person is simply securing an empty cooler in a minor way to prevent an opportunist from taking a cooler. For that matter you may need a cable with a lock to secure the cooler to the bike so it doesn't fall off when riding.

Hi.. Once go through the BMX bikes are one of the most popular styles of bicycles in the world. The sport of BMX was originally adopted by young riders, but over the years has grown into a hugely successful extreme sport for all ages.

Have you guys had any experience with those?
Sorry to be negative, but a hybrid is not what you want if you are serious about either mountain biking or especially triathlons. It will not hold up to the rigors of the trail and will not be as efficient as either a dedicated tri bike or at least a road bike. There is the slightly more appealing option of a cyclocross bike but again it is going to be a compromise and therefor do neither trail or road as well as bikes made for that purpose. So I say borrow the mountain bike and buy the road or tri bike. If you are a less experienced cyclist you should maybe start with a road bike which is more stable and easier to handle and you can always put tri bars on it.
