Well my girlfriend got me a Bell wireless one for Christmas. Hopefully Ill get at least a few months of decent service out of it. It has the most important features Im interested in on it. 5 different modes if I remember right.

Really for most people 5 modes is all they really need, thus the need for a expensive computer is more of a want not a need. I got the Sigma 1609 because I got on sale for $25 and it came with the cadence feature. But I don't need a temperature readout, a backlight, really not even the cadence but it is a handy tool, but I got such a good price on it I bought it.

Actually in all honesty, a lot of people don't even need a computer!!

So be happy with the Bell, when the time comes to replace it you'll know better what features you want in a new one. Maybe your Bell will out last the wireless Cateyes I had! Bell has made some half way decent stuff, I bought a Bell water cage and mount so I could put a third water bottle on my touring bike; this Bell unit was rated 2nd best on the market for this particular thing!

Here's a pic of mine. I really like it, especially after figuring out of to set it up, or rather, how to program it. Major flaw in the instruction booklet. .. nowhere do they tell or show you which of the two bottom buttons is the mode or set button. Come on lol. I basically had to just keep hitting buttons until I figured it out myself. Features I like the best, distance per ride, time per ride, average speed, and its nice to just have a regular clock right there, I don't wear a watch. All in all, certainly worth the 20 or 25 bucks my g/f spent on it assuming it lasts for awhile.
