I got a Hero2 for Christmas, didn't care to get the newer one as all of the accessories can be used with the Hero2, and it's cheaper. I only wanted something that takes HD video and has decent bike mounts.

I decided to go with (when funds provide as my Budget and Planning Committee allows me a seat but now power) a Contour Roam2 or +2. The GoPro Hero 3s have waaaaaaaaay too many problems for me to bother with.

What are these problems you speak of?

I've been eyeing the blue Contour 2!

Hack,

The Hero3 looks like it was rushed to market. When you open it up, it reauires a firmware update prior to even using it. There's a lot of problems with the buttons failing etc.

We'll see what happens....

Looks great, spec-wise, but I'm kind of curious to see what Sony's next offering is going to be.

JVC's cam is pretty sharp but it seems people either love it or hate it. Price is great, though.

I am torn because I love snorkeling but I don't get a lot of chances to get out to a reef . I've heard the GoPro is much better for underwater than the Contour Roam 2.

Though I have heard the Roam 2 is great for cycling (less so for underwater).

I have the Hero HD and love it for underwater, in water, cycling, stuck to light bar on truck for offroading or hwy driving, stuck to car with suction cup mount, in pools/waterpark, mounted to RC vehicle. Even video'd some of the grandaughters first moments of life - no not the delivery. I want to strap it to the dog but the wife won't let me. She says the dog is not my toy. I disagree, lol.........great camera, no issues with it.

It would be great for snorkeling either on chest mount facing down or hand held or with the wrist strap.

We have one! It's great! Handlebar mount works on all the bikes...works exceptionally well mounted on my lionfish spear too! Perfect camera for underwater and topside too!

Get yours today!
