Do they make seat stay adapters for rear lights that would normally mount on the seat post?

I am going to buy the Arkel Randonneur Rack for my bike so that I have something to carry a bag on for commuting to work. Of course this is going to block view of my rear facing light.

I have the Cygolite Hotshot now and it works very well and is USB rechargable and I really dont want to have to buy another light just so I have something when I use the rack. If anything at all I would rather buy another Hotshot so that I could mount one on each side on the seat stays.

Unless there is an adapter I can get to just mount the light directly to the rack. I wouldnt mind that either I just havent found one yet.

You could try some thin rolled foam, pipe insulator kind, or maybe that's too thick? My Blackburn rear light is self adjusting to tube thickness.

Is there some reason you wouldn't/couldn't put it on the rack or bag you are putting on the rack? And to add to Mc's suggestion I have a bag full of rubber strips that if I remember correctly came from the inside of all the reflectors I have removed over the years. At least that'e where I think they have come from

"I used a discarded carbon fiber computer mount (worthless since the plastic piece vibrated too much). But the cheapest and easiest solution is to buy a one-inch dowel, cut it to two inches in length, paint it, and then screw it to the bottom of the rack using the existing hole. I had not thought of that. The rack uses tubing that is, I think, 1/4" or threabouts and the seat post clamp is over an inch (31.8mm or something like that) so it wont adjust that small.

However, the foam insulator might work and I may have to give that a shot.

The thing I was trying to avoid was forgetting that the light is on the rack and not putting it back on the bike and then needing it. My thought was that if I could mount the light in some place where it would not matter whether or not I had the rack on or not then that would avoid that issue.

I think, however, with the way the rack mounts, I can just leave the seatpost light on there, buy and extra one and put it on the rack. The one on the seat post wont be in the way of the rack and when I take the rack off I wont be without a light either way.

Probably me just being over analytical more than anything trying to plan for all the contingencies that I can.

What about these? They mount directly to the seat stay and are really bright. I've seen a lot of people at my rides with them. They come in black and white and six other colors.
