If I had that much of an issue with messing up a rotor I think I'd just bust out the allen and
take the whole caliper off, wedge it somewhere out of the way, ride back using only the

It would help to see an image of how this is "used to hold the brake pads in" your caliper. In
my imagination I can see it applied as an alternative to the OE bridge bolt, or through the end
