I agree! I can't really see taking money out of a retirement account for anything but an

Not 100% sure but I think that the older Shimano Sora (with thumbshifters) will work for what
you want to do. If not, look at the Shimano 2400 series.

Well, she did it! As of yesterday, she was 21 miles shy of getting the 41 points needed to get
Platinum. This morning she rode 26 miles. Really proud of her. Now on to the Fall Challenge.

Thanks Tru! That is close to what my friend at the LBS said. Since probably 1% of my rides are
close to or over 7 hours, I don't think battery drainage is going to be a big problem for the
