Depends on what kinda of riding you are going to do. I for one do not race so alittle more
weight is no concern of mine. Also if i damage the frame I can weld the aluminum.

I think it would depend on tire size. My Trek has 28c tires and I can roll with the roadies. My
riding partner has a Trek 1.5 roadie and is always struggling to keep up lol.
