This is just one incredible bike. I had the 2009 framset and built it up with a Chorus 11 build on DT Swiss 1.2 wheels w/ Swiss 240s hubs. The price reflects just the frame set. "Had" because I got hit in late 2010 and have upgraded. Keep in mind I am a Clydesdale and this bike took care of me. If my legs were there, the bike is fast; same with the climbs, too. The descents were solid and confidant. Being a "plush" geometry, the power transfer to the BB was not all it could be. (But, I did not really understand this until I rode the R5) So, the seat stays did their job magnificently. Every now and then it would feel "sluggish" as though my rear tire was going flat. I would check and, being okay, I attributed it to my weight. But, as I was reading in forums, some riders experienced something similar and attributed this to the rear "suspension" of the seat stays. At 250# at the time, I would have loved to have a camera on the seat stays to see them working!

If you do recreational, charity and group rides, you can not go wrong with this bike. Even an occasional race might do fine; but, I wouldn't know, I don't race. I cannot say enough good about this bike. The only reason I went up in the R series after my crash was that Cervelo brought the R3 & 5 geometry closer to the RS. The lifetime warranty, crash replacement program and Cervelo's service are great pluses, too! Price Payed: $1,950.00 Recommended? Yes Pros: Fast as my legs could make it; climbs as well as my legs can climb; solid on descents' great geometry/position for me. Incredibly comfortable over rougher roads; never really felt jolted by the vibrations. Cons: None.
