Entry level hydro brake from Shimano. With Shimano making this brake you know you will always be able to get parts and service for it, this being the main reason I bought them. Sure I could have went for the XT's with the ICE rotors but this fit my budget for the time being.

These replaced a worn out set of Hayes Nine's and they actually stop a bit better! The front brake is a bit noisy but I think it still needs adjusted a bit. The rear hose is super long and will most likely need shortened like mine did. I ride medium frame bikes though.

Both front and rear brakes come with brass fittings to shorten the hoses if need be. If you do shorten them be sure to bleed the system. I tried to get away with not doing that and ended up taking it to the bike shop to get bled. Price Payed: $50.00 Recommended? Yes Pros: Stop well, great price point, easy to find parts. Cons: It's better than rim brakes, but it suffers greatly compared to a good pair of SLX or higher models. Synopsis: Decent braking power but could have more, also a bit bulky.
