As Dean suggested in the newsletter, I like the idea of a thread here that we can post pics of our rides. A nice way to see where all around the world we enjoy our bikes.

Here is a pic from tonight's ride. This is very close to where I work and part of a usual after work loop. And yes, the weather was as nice as it looks in the pic. 72 degrees, clear skies, and winds of only about 10 mph.

This picture shows the fields where the Battle of Prairie Grove took place during the Civil War in 1862.

Better late than never and I may have posted this last year but now it has a home :D This was before the actual event.

Here's a shot of the sun and I warming up together yesterday. We both had a long day. I rode my first century of the year and the sun stayed out all day and warmed us up to 87 degrees yesterday. That's a little too warm for this time of year as far as I'm concerned. Actually, I'd be happy if it never got above 70.

Some of the switchbacks on Lookout Mountain road. You can see several bike riders on it. It is a very popular "right of passage".

Very very nice! I would like to try that one day, not quite sure I would have the legs or lungs for it but I would like to give it try one day!

Here's a couple from last night's ride. One thing I'm noticing as I think about taking shots for this thread is that rides are a lot more fun if you see more than just pavement.

Country roads and no traffic plus gorgeous weather made me not want to get off the bike last night.

Being that the "largest meat producer in the world" (according to Wikipedia) who got their start as a poultry producer is headquartered here, you see a lot of these:

I never think to take a camera with me on a ride. I'll have to correct that this year. That's beautiful country side, Xela. I dream of roads like those to ride on. I have to go a long way from home to get to deserted roads like those. Traffic on the small roads around where I live is annoying, to say the least.

Thanks! I had ridden nearly the same route the day before and wished I had my camera, rather than just my phone. So I decided a good remedy was to go on that route again with the camera. Everything is so green around here right now. However, with upper 80s this early in the year, I bet things won't be green for very long this year. I'm thinking it's going to be a nasty summer.
