Here's some images of my mid '70's Mirella. I saved it from the curbside, it was filthy and I really didn't know what I had until I brought it home. You don't see Mirella's very often ... Wonderful paint, I'm in love with the crankset. Most of these photos were taken they day I got it. Since...

I just dug out my old ten speed road bike from my teenage years ( I'm in my late 50's so the bike is from the 60's). It has an Italian frame by Briggette. Derailors by Campy, Rigida rims with leather seat. The question is should I restore it as a fun occassional rider. And if so, how far do...

Just in case this hasn't been posted in this forum: Disraeli Gears - a derailleur collection You don't see many of these models out there ... or at least I don't: Derailleurs - a riot of colour Scott

Hi - new here, thought I'd kick things off by posting my newly completed 1965Cinelli Model B. I haven't had much of a chance to ride it becasue it's not exactly a bad-weather bike, but the few sunny rides I had with it were great! I changed up the tires, cables and usual suspects like that...

Ok, so I think I'm going to sell my Raleigh sports bike. I have all ready posted pictures up in a different thread but I will link them to this thread as well. First question is: how much would you pay for this bike? My second question: If I sold it on Ebay, how would I go about shipping it? The...

Doing my regular rounds on Friday I spotted a Schwinn Prelude outside a pawn shop. After a little checking and finding out it's a pretty decent ride (better than my Raleigh Marathon in quality), I decided to pick it up. I will either flip this one or sell off the Marathon. It seems to be...

I don't understand the advantage of having an 11 speed (gear) rear cassette over say 10/9/8/7/6 or 5 speed cassette? Is this the same marketing gimmick as the 4 or 5 bladed razor? You don't get a closer shave from a 4 or 5 bladed razor than a 3 bladed razor, if you think so I would submit that...

I have an old sprocket off of a 1970's Ultra 10 speed road bike. I was able to get the sprocket off of the axle, and want to disassemble it in its entirety to gain access to the cogs. It has a 12 tooth cog on the top, which means the lockring is behind that (I think).. Disassembly by destruction...

Hey this is my first attempt at communicating about my Fastback restoration. I have a lot of NOS parts and a lot of 10 out of 10 used parts. I have some NOS S-5 hoops that I want to lace up to some used hubs that I have. My Frame serial number begins DD or April 68. I have several different...

Hi all, I'm new here and have jumped into bikes again after many years since riding during my youth. I'm not really fanatical about bicycles, I just enjoy riding now and then. I have a mechanical side to me that wants to refurbish-improve an old classic like a 1985 Schwinn World 10-speed. The...

My dad has an old Raleigh Grand Prix he bought in the late 60's or early 70's. He road it to work at the time, but it has since been stored in a garage and not seen any use in almost 20 years. I'm going to clean it up and use it for sunday cruising/art. Anyone have any tips, suggestions, or...

Road bikes - a set on Flickr These are some pictures of my 1975 Panasonic Tourist-10 road bike and 1970 era Raleigh Sports bike. The original speedometer that was on the Panasonic broke so I replaced it with the one shown. I found the speedometer on Ebay. The Trek light that is on the Panasonic...

I have a small obsession with two wheels. I enjoying building bikes myself. I also very into riding them vs driving. I run a website called GhentCruisers.com I dabble in motorized bikes and specialized parts for them. We're known for our drop seat posts and soon to be gas tanks. I'm looking...

I have a wild hair up my arse to build a bike that I can ride in downtown Sacramento. I would like to build a "Fixie" I would not mind getting my hands on a vintage frame at a reasonable price. I have been looking on my local craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services...
