The LBS sells trek and soecialized. Rode the sirrus and Fx 7.2. Think I fell in love with the sirrus. The fx rode good but was heavier and I wasn't sure about the handle bars.

Do riser bars help comfort or performance? Which is more aggressive? That is the only lingering question beforeninseal the deal.

Generally speaking, a more upright position is more comfortable, a lower position will enhance performance by lowering wind resistance. Your back at 45º is a good starting point for performance oriented riding, depending on the rider's fitness. Of course, personal preference is paramount. Since you won't be racing, wind resistance may not be a concern.
