I've been working on a couple bicycle trailer projects and was wondering if there are any other Trailer Junkies out there. So far mine have been kid hauler conversions. One cargo and one flat bed project. Tell me about yours...

Simple one for me. An old kiddie trailer. Took part of the top and trimmed it to fit the front, moved one of the cross bars and added another to create ends that were high enough to hold in cargo, and low enough to lean things like chairs on.

$50 trailer, $0 for the mods.

I've made a few. All built from the ground up-

Santa Sleigh. (Winner Best Decoration Tour de Lights 2007)

Coal Cart (Winner Best Decoration Tour de Lights 2008) Made of mostly recycled materials.

Billy the Boombox stereo trailer.

My (purchased) WIKE trailer catching some air during the WABA move.

The trailer is rated at 50lbs I believe (for a kid). So I figure with lawyers involved making sure a squirmy kid plopping into it doesn't break it, it should be able to hold 75+.

First trip had a 6 pack of beer, 12 pack of soda, gallon of milk, a watermelon, dishwashing detergent, and some other groceries. I'm planning to see if I can fill it tomorrow at the grocery :)

Maybe find you a scrap piece of 1 in. electrical conduit. Find someone that owns a conduit bender and have them put a couple bends in it to form a trailer tongue. Then you would have to work on a hitch. Lots of ideas on You Tube.
I've slacked off from my trailers to build an Xtracycle cargo bike. We'll see how that goes.
Good luck with the trailer project. Let us know what you come up with.

Oh yeah, If your trailer seems a little top heavy when loaded drop your container lower into the trailer.
