Better late than never: I presently operate a 60 gal peaceful aquarium stocked with a dwarf gourami and plecostamus, plus neon and orange tetras. Ghost shrimp round out the present occupants. The latter are generally sold as food for other fish, but I find them an enjoyable addition in their own right. The tank is established, having been set up some 3 years ago and still going strong.

Anyone else?

We had a bunch of fresh water tanks of various sizes when living in townhouse with no water bill 30 yrs ago then moved to house and had to pay water bill so they transformed into lizard tanks with sand, rocks and heat light......bearded dragons, painted agamas and such for awhile before just retiring all of it. Gave them away to family and friends. Also, maintenance was cutting into riding time so that was a no go.............

Used to have a fair collection of lizards and snakes .... but one has to devote a lot of time and care to keep everything alive and happy (except the food .... it doesn't have to be happy, just alive.) I finally decided that I didn't need to have reptile slaves, and I Certainly didn't need reptile masters .... It's hard enough having a wife and a bunch of bikes telling me what i should be doing.

I like watching fish tanks, though.

I made a Fish TV video with music playing on the stereo and camera filming fish swimming around. I would be VJ and do channel ID announcements every once in awhile throughout it..........I need to digitize it and have a copy besides VCR

I had tanks in college. Two 30s and a 55. Fresh water, African cichlids. They were a little aggressive and there was some carnage. I could watch for hours.
I did too. My Oscar got so big he’d go through a 100 goldfish every 2 weeks. Smart fish. He loved to be petted on his head whenever I came into the room.

I just flashed back to a time my older brother had a large tank with “guppies.”
I vaguely recall getting into a brotherly tussle, grabbing a wooden, toy hammer and with one swing, breaking an almost perfect hole in the side of his tank.
Water and fish came rolling out onto the floor.
Our fight briefly stopped as we grabbed flopping fish and tossed them into the half empty tank.
I really, REALLY felt bad about that.

I know i got into a heap of trouble with my folks, but the punishment escapes my memory at this time.

I can still see that big stream of water with fish exiting the hole.
