The concept is simple, someone post a question you give bad advice.

    I'll start.

After my move my commute is going to be much longer than ever before. How do I get ready for this?

    more bad advice

I would suggest getting a $7000 carbon fiber bike and a roof rack for your car so that you can look cool driving to work.

You will also need a pair of ZZip wheels that will go on stands next to the bike.

watch cycling videos on youtube... then ride like the people in the videos. as you ride try to lean off the bike to see if you are riding like the riders you saw on the computer.

It's a longer commute, so you should rub yourself down with bacon and plan your route to include houses with lots of dogs....it's special training to increase your speed.
Oh! and don't forget the squirrel tails to hang off your rack.

I said bad advice, I would do all of these with joy.

    Next question,

I don't have proper tape for my handle bars, what can I use in the mean time?

You should take the extra time to read a few good books on the ride to work.

Don't worry about the handle bars. Wrap the duct tape on your hands.

I suggest double sided tape, it will improve your grip.

i honestly can't top badgers.. that is some great advice!
but i would simply just remove your handle bars, it would be ridiculous to ride without proper bar tape. just grip the stem with both hands.

    Stem,shem

I think stems are overrated. you might as well take that off too and just "will" the bike into corners, Plus you are cutting down on that all important bike weight.
