I have never really been mountain biking before, but would like to start. Does anyone have any tips as to what type of bike I should start with? Any other tips for me? I would really appreciate any and all suggestions.

Treck, specialized, Kona, and Gary Fisher all make great entry level and professional level mountain bikes. I know that Gary Fisher and Treck are a lot a like in the quality and the parts used on the bikes. I ride a Treck 6 series and love it.

if trek 6 series is the same as my 2002 trek 6700, I love it. Get clipless pedals and get sized properly.

Learn to maintain your bike or pay a mechanic to do it. It makes it more enjoyable.
