I am currently a senior in high school. I am taking a Engineering Development and Design course where we are to come up with a problem and design a solution for it. Our problem was seeing at night while riding a bicycle. This survey is part of the design process to help us design the light to suit the needs of bicyclists, so that they may use it. I would really appreciate if you all could take your time to take a look at the survey and answer the questions. It would help us better the bicycle light, so that we could build to suit your needs and problems. The link to the survey is posted below.

I would be interested in seeing some of the results from your survey. Will you post them?

Make your light system as powerful as possible. You can't have too many candlepower. Seeing the road ahead is key. Any light will allow drivers to see you. (power wise)

There are more types of cyclists than competitive and recreational. Transportation/commuter cyclists (like myself) put a big priority on lighting. Also, it is not uncommon for bicycle lights to cost in excess of $100. I paid about $130 for mine.
