Registered. Selected Hardywood for the packet pickup :) Seems expensive this year.

Going to ride part of the capitol trail this weekend, going to start at jamestown settlement. Anyone have any pointers? I am thinking going 25 miles in then turn around.

Have fun, it's an easy ride. Are you going to ride in the Cap2Cap as well?

That is about the distance (maybe slightly less) to Charles City Courthouse, a great turnaround spot. Bathrooms and running water there OR if you are so inclined across the street is the Courthouse Tavern....

especially if you factor in the money that will be spent at Hardywood!

Might see you there or on the road, wife and i will be riding it together again. Maybe let you know what kit we'll be sporting.

Can do! Looking to only do 50 this year and make it slow. My friends brother is coming down so we will roll easy this year.

I had not thought about doing the entire trail just yet. My husband is an old bass fisherman and he was concerned with me crossing the "chick" until he pulled up the trail on google earth. Looking forward to a good ride.

Sweet! I'm taking this steed instead of my Madone this year :) My buddy will be on a Matte back TCR advanced and his brother will be on a black Trek Domane... Guess that makes me the odd man out. I'm dealing with raceit.com right over the 80.25 registration. I never received a confirmation email and it's my fault for waiting this long to deal with it :-/

Snapped off my derailleur at the 82.5 mile! Really bummed as i was feeling great, tried to cut down the chain and make it a one speed but a few miles down the road the chain snapped...SAG back to the finish sorry i missed ya but it turned into a long afternoon

What a bummer! Given what happened I guess it's a good thing it didn't take a few spokes or hurt the frame!

BTW, not a fan of the single start point now...WAY to congested and busy. Saw way to many crashes yesterday and I can't remember but one or two all together in the past events. Logistically it's a good move for the event folks tho. Did you like the "Holy water" and "inspirational ice"?
