Hi everyone.

I'm looking to buy a new crank set for my race bike, and I was wondering what crank arm length I should get. I currently have a shimano 105 53/39 175mm crank. I heard that big crank arms are better for tall people. I'm a pretty big guy with long legs. I ride a 59in frame, so I think I could maybe upgrade to a 180mm crank. Has anyone out there ridden a 180mm crank? Any comments or experiences would be super appreciated!

I'm 6'7" and ride 180s on a 64cm frame. I ride 170s on a fixed gear. I assume you meant 59cm for your frame size. I don't think it matters all that much. I feel the 10mm difference between the fixed and road. Not better or worse, just different. I'm a little light on Zinn's recommendation of 21-22% of inseam length. I'd say if it ain't broke don't fix it. There aren't many 180s out there unless you go used.
