My wife would cycle more with me if she has some padded cycling gloves, with open fingertips. Something where the glove fingers maybe go up to the nail, covering the knuckles, and leaving the tips open. Any suggestions or recommendations?

As someone with severe RA, I'd suggest the most important thing about cycling gloves are pads in the palm. Any open finger cycling glove from any bike shop should do.

The padding is necessary, but those designs won't do. She needs to have her fingers covered past the first knuckle.

I would find a pair of gloves that work for her padding wise and then simply cut the fingers. Should be easy enough to do.
