Been riding a mountain bike for years and recently on the street only. Just got a new GT 5 Series and did my usual 14.5 mile loop 6 minutes faster! Any advise for riding the different style? The bars, brake/shifters and toe clip pedals will take some getting use too. The higher gears also killed my hill climbs and I have two short/steep hills near my house, would going to a 28 on the rear help noticeably over the 25 on there now?

I guess you must have an 11-25 right now? Yes the 28 will give you a lot more spin :D

It's a 12-25 right now. Was thinking of an 11-28, Shimano 2200 rear dérailleur so I don't think I can get any bigger in the back.

Thank you all, I'm happy to be here
