I recently installed a set of Avids on a friends bike...he is complaining about the brakes pulsating whenever he uses his front brake...is this due to the rim being a tad out of true? Any suggestions on how to get rid of this problem? Thanks from me and him!
the wheel being out of true can cause brake pulsations. Another good posibility is oils, dirt, grease or some other contaminates on the rim/rotor depending on wether it's rim or disc brakes.
If it is a disc brake the rim being out of true has nothing to do with it since the rotor is mounted to the hub. If it is a v-brake and the rim is out of true then you would definetely feel it some. Make sure all the bolts are tight too.
