Hello everyone. It is a warm, warm week up here in Anchorage, AK. Sunny with temps hovering around 70 degrees. Almost to warm to ride! *LOL*

I'm Maryjo. I am a 50-something, fat, old woman, but since I live only about 3 miles from work, days like this are meant for bike riding. I have a 1994 Schwinn, 18-speed, mntn bike that I have converted a little for city riding. (all this means is street tires) Don't ask me much about the bike, I don't know technical terms.

Someday I'll post a pic of the bike. The rest of my time is devoted to my pugs and pug rescue. I don't have a trailer to haul them with me, maybe someday.

I thought this forum would be fun to read, so I joined!

Glad to have you, Maryjo! I think your work with the dogs is fantastic! We were in Anchorage in early August and it was in the 50s, so apparently your "heatwave" won't last long.

Welcome MaryJo!

You Alaskan's crack me up with your idea of a heatwave :) And I'm very jealous. My MIL lives in Anchorage and absolutely will not come down to the lower 48 if the temps here are over 70.

You live in a great place to bike.
